Application Requirements
Part-time Study
All students have a five year period in which to complete their JD. However, the first year is usually done as full time study.
There is a provision for first year students to apply for part-time study.
Admission to part-time for first year is limited to 5% of places. In order to be considered for admission to the part-time JD program for first year, applicants must:
- have been admitted through the normal admission process pertaining to full time students
- demonstrate in writing to the satisfaction of the Admissions Committee circumstances to justify admission to the part-time program, within one or more of the following categories:
- family obligations requiring care for dependents
- personal or family health problems
- physical or learning disability
- subject to space availability, circumstances such as employment commitments, financial hardship or other personal disadvantage that is not included in 1-3.
Applicants who are interested in the part-time program must submit their written request to the admissions Office, prior to July 1st in the year in which they wish to be considered. All information & documentation pertaining to the relevant circumstances (i.e: personal statement, medical certificates etc.) must accompany the applicant's request, in order to be considered by the Committee. Successful candidates will be notified in writing as soon as a decision has been made.
