Indigenous Academic Services
Many challenging career opportunities exist for Aboriginal law school graduates. Within the Canadian legal community Aboriginal lawyers are employed as defence counsel, judges, corporate counsel, Crown prosecutors, in-house legal counsel and legal consultants for Aboriginal government and private organizations, government policy makers and politicians.
Indigenous Academic Services assists interested and qualified Aboriginal students achieve their goals of obtaining a legal education.
This program, funded by the Alberta Law Foundation, advises prospective students on admission procedures, admissions criteria, offers academic counseling for students enrolled in the JD program, and provides career and employment counseling.
